Customer-Supplied Items for Engraving

Already have the item you want engraved? EtchCraft accepts many customer-supplied items for professional laser engraving.

Bring Your Own Items for Engraving

Many customers already have the perfect item and simply want to personalize it with engraving. At EtchCraft, we accept many customer-supplied items for professional laser engraving, allowing you to add names, logos, dates, or custom designs to items you already own.

Common projects include drinkware, tools, plaques, keepsakes, and specialty items that may not be part of our standard product catalog. If the material is compatible with laser engraving, we can often engrave your item with clean, permanent results.

Not sure if your item will work? Feel free to contact us with a photo or description and we’ll be happy to help determine whether engraving is possible.

Common Customer-Supplied Items We Engrave

Customers bring a wide variety of items to be engraved. Some of the most common customer-supplied items include:

  • Tumblers and water bottles
  • Knives and tools
  • Plaques and decorative pieces
  • Keepsakes and personal items
  • Specialty drinkware and barware
  • Branded merchandise or promotional items
  • Custom gifts purchased elsewhere
  • Unique items not typically sold in engraving catalogs

Important Considerations

Because customer-supplied items were not manufactured specifically for engraving, there are a few important factors to consider before work begins. Different materials react differently to laser engraving, and in some cases the results can vary depending on the composition or coating of the item.

While we take great care during every project, engraving customer-supplied items does carry some inherent risk. For this reason, we recommend avoiding items that are extremely rare, irreplaceable, or highly sentimental.

Before engraving begins, customers bringing their own items are asked to review and complete a standard waiver acknowledging these considerations.

Customer-Supplied Item Waiver

Customers bringing their own items for engraving are asked to review and complete a brief waiver before work begins. This document confirms that the item is being engraved at the owner’s request and acknowledges the inherent risks involved with engraving customer-supplied materials.
